How to connect internet using bsnl prepaid (on Windows Vista) for newbie

Here is the simplest way to connect to internet without using any PC Suite software:

Prerequisite:

1. Should have installed modem properly
2. Min. balance should be more than Rs. 50.00
3. Bsnl net connect is active on your number

Procedure:

Modem Customization:

• Open control panel

1. Open "Phone and modem" option
2. Open "Modems" tab
3. Highlight (single click) your modem, then select "Properties"
4. Click on "Change Setting" button (Accept popup)
   
5. Select "Advanced" Tab.
   
6. There should be "Extra initializing commands" write the following command in the section then click "Ok"

Creating Dial-up Connection:

•  Goto Control panel

1. Open "Network and Sharing Center"
2. Open "Setup a connection or network"
3. Select "Setup a dial-up connection" and click "Next"
4. Fill the following details:

• Dial-up phone number: *99#
• User name: <Leave Blank>
• Password: <Leave Blank>
• Connection name: BSNL Dial-up Connection

Then click on "Connect" button

Now you are connected to Internet.
